EASTHAM BOARD OF ASSESSORS
Minutes of October 19, 2011 Meeting

Chairman Sette called the meeting of the Board of Assessors to order at 9:30 a.m. in the Small Meeting Room.

Present:        Assessors Sette, Fagan, Cahill, Buffington, Deputy Assessor Gail McAleer and Field Appraiser Belinda Eyestone.

OLD BUSINESS:

The Board VOTED unanimously to APPROVE the minutes of the September 22, 2011 meeting.

NEW BUSINESS:

Deputy Assessor Update:

The Board VOTED unanimously to APPROVE the FY13 renewals of the Chapter 61B applications for the Atlantic Oaks Realty Trust located at 3700 State Highway and the Harris Family Realty Trust located at 531 Dyer Prince Road. The Board reviewed and discussed a new FY13 Chapter 61B application for Frances Kosarick located at 405 Higgins Road. Additional information is required before approval can be granted.

Gail McAleer discussed the status of the FY12 abatements received to date. The deadline for filing is November 1, 2011. There have been very few filings to date. Field Appraiser, Belinda Eyestone, is verifying the data on all real estate abatements prior to the field review by the Board when needed.

Gail reviewed the FY12 Personal Property abatement applications where additional information was received regarding the residency status of the owner after the bills were mailed. The Board will convene Executive Session to discuss and vote on FY12 abatements and exemptions.

EXECUTIVE SESSION:

Maureen Fagan made a motion to convene Executive Session per M.G.L. c.30A, Sec. 21.
        Doreen Cahill seconded.
Roll call vote was taken to enter Executive Session at 9:40 a.m.
        Cahill-yes, Fagan-yes, Sette-yes, Buffington-yes

The Board exited Executive Session at 9:55 a.m.

The meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
